2009 was the first year for the Garden for the Community!
The Garden for the Community is located on a third of an acre on the University of Delaware College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences campus (accessible from Rt. 896/S. College Ave.). We grow vegetables, herbs, and some fruits to provide fresh, local, sustainably-grown produce to the Food Bank of Delaware steadily throughout the year. The current economic climate makes it more important than ever to lend a helping hand to our neighbors in need. The Garden also provides a living classroom for students and community members, as well as a demonstration area for Food Bank culinary workshops.
The success of the garden depends on the generosity of local business donors, community volunteers, and CANR faculty, students and professionals. Please consider helping us work in this garden.
