Ifeoma (Lois) Mbachu is a Biology major from Lincoln University who studied Marek’s disease with Dr. Mark Parcells. Her project dealt with the genetic analysis of Marek’s disease virus (MDV), a cancer-causing virus of chickens. Specifically, she examined field isolates from Nigeria, provided as DNA samples from Dr. Luka Jwander. She looked at the relatedness of these viruses to known isolates of MDV from around the world.

Lois is driven by her interest in biology and her desire to become a doctor. She believes that working in this lab will give her vital research experience.
