What do you like about the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources?

I love that I am able to interact with and learn about a wide variety of animals at CANR. CANR is also conveniently located on main campus, so it’s never more than a short walk or bus ride away! I know I can always go there outside of class just to de-stress whenever I need some animal time. The best part about CANR is the amazing staff that work there! The friendly professors here are passionate about what they teach and they truly inspire me to be passionate about what I’m learning.

What is your most memorable AG or UD experience?

My most memorable CANR experience was raising a calf the fall of my freshman year! Before coming to UD, I had never had the chance to work with cows before. After bottle feeding and caring for “my” calf, I have developed a passion for these four legged creatures and can’t wait to work with them more in the future!

What are your career goals?

My goal is to become an Equine Veterinarian. I have loved horses for as long as I can remember, and I would like them to be a large part of the rest of my life!

What is an interesting or unusual fact about you?

I am 100% Portuguese. Both of my parents were born in Portugal, and my grandma still lives there today. I love going to visit because I get to see family and practice speaking Portuguese!
