Agriculture and Natural Resources
What do you like about the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources?
To me, the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources offers something very unique. I think having access to the farm and hands on experience is one of many things this college has that set it apart. I also think this college is full of amazing and thoughtful professors and advisors, and students, who all have a lot of passion for their fields of work and study. We all genuinely care about and want to work towards the betterment of agriculture and nature and this, I believe, has formed a camaraderie between us all that is truly unique. In addition to this I believe that the overall community of students and faculty members is filled with a true community spirit and it feels so very good to be a part of something that so many people are so very passionate about.
What is your most memorable AG or UD experience?
My most memorable CANR experience would definitely be one of the first times on the farm here at UD. Freshman year, first semester, I was given this experience through a class with an attached lab. In this class we were given lectures about the basic information of animals and then would apply our knowledge to hands on experience on the UD farm. Since growing up in a somewhat suburban area, I had very minimal experience with animals in a farm situation and having this access shortly after arriving on campus inspired my love for this college and further cemented that my major was the perfect fit for me.
What are your career goals?
At the moment, I am somewhat undecided in what I would like to do pursue after graduation. However, with the help of both my majors granting a variety of specialties, I believe that my career opportunities are quite varying. With this endless opportunity, I have the freedom to determine where my true passions lie and am having a phenomenal time obtaining the full college experience. In the long run, I hope to someday create a company that fully envelops all aspects of my passions, making my passions into a dream career of my own.
What is an interesting or unusual fact about you?
When not working at a doggy daycare, I like to spend my time working on small crafts in particular, embroidery.
What is your favorite book, movie or song?
I would have to say my favorite movie is Forest Gump.
