What do you like about the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources?

I love the environment that surrounds CANR. As soon as I step onto South Campus, I forget about everything else that I am stressing about. And it isn’t just the campus, it is the people too. Everyone involved in CANR is truly passionate about what they do; their excitement to teach is almost matched by their expertise. Being around people that love what they do is truly inspirational and makes CANR a place like no other.

What is your most memorable AG or UD experience?

I think my most memorable experience at CANR is raising a calf during ANFS 111 lab. Watching her and all of the calves grow from week to week made me appreciate how much work goes into taking care of these animals and how amazing life is. The class helped me grow closer to a bunch of people in my major, many of whom I consider to be very close friends. I can’t imagine my experience here at UD without them.

What are your career goals?

My goal is to become a veterinary and work in a mixed animal practice. I’m from an area that doesn’t have very many large animals, and when I came to UD I was given the opportunity to work with them and I fell in love with them. I want get to a position where I will be able to treat anything that walks through the door.

What is an interesting or unusual fact about you?

Every few years I go and visit my family in the Dominican Republic and spend about two weeks on the island. The most recent time I visited I was able to spend time in the mountains and go hiking through almost untouched jungle and the amount of wildlife I saw was absolutely breathtaking.
