Bark

Gray-brown of smooth consistency but showing irregular, organish brown, and interlacing fissures.

Flower

Perfect, .75 wide, white, yellow-stamened, slightly fragrant, bell-shaped, corolla 5-lobed being united near base, each flower borne on a 1 to 1.5 inch long penulous stalk, occuring on short lateralshoots, each with 3 to 6 flowers, May-June.

Fruit

Dry drupe, ovoid, about .5 long, grayish in color and less than obvious; effective in August and often falling by November; containing a single shiny brown hard seed.
