2019 Spring Plant Sale
In 2018, UDBG celebrated its 26th Spring Plant Sale with the large flowered dogwoods (Cornus) as our featured shrub group and Hosta as the herbaceous Featured plant. UDBG members exclusively receive the full color Spring Plant Sale catalog as one of their member benefits. In 2019, UDBG will celebrate its 27th Annual Spring Plant Sale with beautyberry (Callicarpa) as our featured shrub group and lenten rose (Helleborus) as the herbaceous featured plant group.
We offer customers plants that work well here. We grow, test, and evaluate plants in the UDBG collection and our academic programs vet the plants. UDBG Friends and Plant Sale Patrons are permitted early entry to the Spring Plant Sale. Patrons of the Spring Plant Sale provide support to our Student Programs, helping students maintain, develop, and interpret the plant collection and gardens. Students gain hands-on experience, learn skills, build resumes, while also earning monies.
The plant sale is organized by the UDBG staff, UDBG Friends, and dedicated volunteers. We accept major credit cards, checks, and cash. The sale is located on Roger Martin Lane, inside the fenced-in area across from Fischer Greenhouse on UD’s south campus. We request you drive a vehicle large enough to fit your plant purchases. Additional plants are available for purchase on each sale day in limited quantity.
