Internships for ANFS students

Graduating students with internships on their resume are able to show work experience in the field before they even start applying for jobs. Our students are able to obtain internships pertaining to their degree at a variety of different prestigious locations. Here are some of the locations at which our students have interned as well as their testimonies of the experience.

“I am currently working with the Animal Programs department at the Baltimore Aquarium which is home to several types of reptiles and birds. I perform basic husbandry for the animals and assist with training. I also assist with educational programs for the public.” – Tyler Jackson, UD student

“Helped prepare lab samples, assist in lab experiments, and perform research specifically with beverage emulsions. Performed laboratory tests including viscosity, pH, turbidity, particle size and gel strength. Gained skills required to safely and properly operate specified lab instruments.” – Kyra Fivek, UD student

“As Senior Nursery Intern, I was responsible for maintaining order and organization in the nursery. I also was able to assist in bandage changes, handling and providing medicine to raptors and receiving/checking in patients and talking to and informing the public of what Tri-State does.” – Caitlyn Hamill, UD student

“Responsibilities include shadowing clinical cases and medicine. This includes weekly rounds, assessment, triage, giving necessary care as directed by the animal care staff, animal transport (if needed), and maintenance of records and databases.” – Monica Pompey, UD student
