Alexa Reyes is a Food science major at the University of Delaware who worked with Dr. Changqing Wu probiotics in poultry. Her research is designed to determine whether probiotics can effectively reduce the need for antibiotics in chickens.
Alexa wants to work in food safety, and has an interest in microbiology innovation. She recognizes the concerns many people have about antibiotics and wants her research to challenge that issue. This time experimenting in the lab will give her experience that will prepare her for the work that she wants to pursue.
