What do you like about the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources?
The UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources allows students numerous hands-on opportunities with different types of livestock at the UD farm. This is one of the best resources available to students who are looking to become a veterinarian or work with animals in their future career. CANR also has a lots of resources to work with research, or find internships to further develop your animal experiences and knowledge. I am so thankful to be a member of the CANR family and be able to diversify my education through all of these opportunities.
What is your most memorable AG or UD experience?
One of my best experiences in the CANR thus far, was in my ANFS 111 lab my first semester of freshman year. One of my favorite labs was working with the UD dairy calves, and being able to take their TPR, height, and a number of other measurements. Not only was it an incredible experience being able to handle and work with all of the young animals, but it was exciting to apply what we learned about dairy calves and put it into action at UD’s farm.
What are your career goals?
My goal is to attain my Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Animal Biosciences bachelor's degree here at UD, and then go on to apply to vet school. My current goal is to become either an equine or large animal veterinarian. I am looking forward to gaining more experience with different types of animals in my next few years at the University of Delaware.
What is an interesting or unusual fact about you?
My family owns an alpaca farm, and I have been able to raise lots of baby alpacas since we started our farm.
What is your favorite book, movie or song?
Any type of country song.
