Danielle Mikolajewski

Plant Science

Campus Involvement:

UD Marching Band, Collegiate FFA, Horticulture Club, NSCS, Undergraduate Assistant at Delaware Biotechnology Institute

What do you like about the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources?

It is on the smaller side so there is a good student to staff ratio which allows more student to professor interaction. This interaction allows for students to feel welcome and to get more involved in CANR activities. It also doesn’t hurt to have the UD creamery right next to Townsend Hall ;D

What is your most memorable AG or UD experience?

Definitely my “freshmen first day/1748 Welcome Day” because I was able to meet with so many great minds in my major and felt like I could talk to any of them if I had problems.

What are your career goals?

Research. I am working on a project now with Dr. Jung Youn Lee at the Delaware Biotech Institute. I am working with Cuscuta pentagonia and it’s not going anywhere, so that idea is scrapped and I am back to my original “Save the environment” kind of attitude.

What is an interesting or unusual fact about you?

I am involved in a lot of different activities on campus and my fun fact is that I enjoy all of this extra pressure on me; as much as I complain about how hard it is to do everything it motivates me to work harder and do better.

What is your favorite book, movie or song?

Song: Wanted by Hunter Hayes.
