What do you like about the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources?
I like the close knit community that CANR has. I always feel like it is a home away from home and everyone is welcoming. I also love my program. I have never lived or been around farm animals, and within my two years of being at UD, I have been able to handle all of the farm animals and have been exposed to many different aspects of animal health and farm life.
What is your most memorable AG or UD experience?
My most memorable CANR experience has to be when I put my hand inside of a cannulated cow. For starters, the ANFS111 Lab was the best lab I have ever taken here at UD aside from the Anatomy lab. When I was given the opportunity to place my hand inside of a cow's rumen, I was both nervous and excited. I have never been so close to a cow, let alone inside of a cow! I was able to really get a feel for the rumen and it helped me with my understanding of the rumen and rumination.
What are your career goals?
My career goals include going to veterinary school and specializing in emergency surgery. I hope to eventually open my own practice, which will include a 24-hour emergency department.
What is an interesting or unusual fact about you?
An interesting fact about me is that I used to dance for 15 years.
What is your favorite book, movie or song?
My favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird and my favorite movie is Jumanji.
