What do you like about the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources?
CANR provides a very hands-on experience for all its students. Being put out into the field as early as one week into my freshman year was amazing. I was able to learn by experiencing rather than listening and writing notes in a lecture hall, which was such a positive experience for me personally.
What is your most memorable AG or UD experience?
One of my favorite memories from my CANR experience was from my ANFS111 sheep lab. My partner and I were tasked with "rumping" a sheep and trimming its hooves. This is by far no easy task, turning an approximately 200 pound animal onto its rear seems quite daunting. But, I was not only able to do this within ten seconds, but by myself. After we completed the lab, my partner took some pictures of me with the sheep and I was beaming ear to ear. It was one of my proudest moments and a memory I will never forget.
What are your career goals?
I plan on becoming a licensed veterinarian for large exotic wildlife and working at zoos and wildlife sanctuaries all over the world where I can help animals of all kinds.
What is an interesting or unusual fact about you?
I dissected a shark once!
What is your favorite book, movie or song?
Favorite Book: The Harry Potter series
