Native perennial is a harbinger of spring and always a pleasant surprise in the early spring garden or local woods (if you can find it!). White, pink, or bluish flowers first appear before the new leaves and persist for up to two months. Three-lobed, pointed, leathery, semi-evergreen leaves emerge after flowers. Prefers rich, moist, well-drained soil, neutral to acid.
