Common Name: Bayberry

(Syn: Morella) Very tough native shrub that’s great for coastal areas with salt conditions and also tolerates both drought and wet soils. Plants can be pruned to ground to maintain height and promote heavier fruiting. Excellent winter hardiness, semi-evergreen aromatic foliage, colonizing shrub. Female plant will produce berries that attract birds and are used to extract wax for bayberry candles. (Note: 2 gal and 3 gal plants are comparable current sizes.)
