(Syn: Osmundastrum cinnamomeum) Stately, erect, arching fronds appear first as silvery, furry fiddleheads. Adapts very well to boggy sites, but can also tolerate moist soils. Separate spore-bearing, stiff, fertile fronds appear in early spring as cinnamon-colored spikes in the center of the clump, giving this native fern its common name.
