UDBG’s paths are primarily mowed grass, with the exception of sidewalks and brick pathways in the Herbaceous Garden and Dunham Garden.
Restrooms
Restrooms are located in Townsend Hall, open on weekdays until 6 p.m. Please note, buildings are closed on holidays observed by the University.
Please don’t touch
Please enjoy the gardens and plants without disturbing them or entering beds.
No smoking
Smoking in the garden is not permitted at any time.
Pets
Clean up after your pets and keep them leashed at all times.
Carry In / Carry Out
Help us keep our gardens beautiful by carrying out all trash or dispose in marked receptacles.
Picnics
Guests with parties of less than 10 are welcome to picnic, though barbecuing is not permitted. Trash must be carried out.

Kindly respect the peace and quiet of others.

Hours
The gardens welcome visitors daily from dawn to dusk, year-round.
Entrance / Parking
While there is no entry fee, parking is metered (more information below).
If you enjoyed your visit, donations are always appreciated and contribute to the ongoing care and maintenance of the gardens.
Parking
Metered parking is available near UDairy Creamery, and pay-by-app parking is available in the Townsend Hall parking lot and the Fred Rust Ice Arena using the Passport Parking Mobile app.

Amtrak
The gardens are located less than a half mile from the Newark Amtrak Station. Upon exiting the station, walk south on South College Ave (Rt. 896) and turn left onto Mopar Drive.
Bus
By bus, the gardens can be accessed using stop 181 located on South College Avenue at Inspiration Boulevard.
