Native
UDBG delineates plants and their associated cultivars as native if endemic to the eastern temperate ecoregions of the mid Atlantic including deciduous forest, Piedmont, and coastal plain. We recognize the definition of native plants is complex and evolving and we continue to remain engaged with other botanic gardens and institutions on how best to characterize these plants. Plants from our regional environment are not only beautiful, but provide a host of ecological services to the landscape.
