Trees are a vital component of countless ecosystems. Almost intuitively, we sense the power of their presence, and we know the role they play in our own survival. The challenges trees now encounter, however, are intensifying. When trees are lost, so are the ecosystems they support. The need to preserve and replant has perhaps never been greater. Who better than arborists to roll up their sleeves and apply their know-how? Join us to hear one arborist’s thoughts on the challenges and practical action that can be taken at the local level to help reverse this course.

Bill Trescott is a seasoned professional with over 35 years of dedicated service at Mt. Cuba Center, where he currently serves as the Manager of the Arboriculture team. An ISA Certified Arborist®, Bill began his journey in arboriculture by training as a tree climber in 1990. His extensive experience and passion for ecological arboriculture led him to become the lead instructor for Mt. Cuba Center’s Ecological Arboriculture and Pruning Trees Correctly classes. A graduate of the University of Delaware with a major in political science and a minor in philosophy, Bill combines academic knowledge with hands-on expertise in the world of trees and arboriculture.
