Online Catalog Available

UDBG’s Spring Plant Sale has been re-imagined. We launched an online plant sale catalog and order form listing all of the plants we have for sale. Many, but not all, of these plants and their descriptions are listed in the 2020 Annual Benefit Spring Plant Sale Catalog. If you don’t have a printed copy, you can view it online or download it from our website. For descriptive information on plants not listed in the Catalog, please research online. The online catalog lists plant name, pot size, price and is grouped under the tabs Conifers, Trees, Shrubs, Perennials, Nonhardy.

Online Catalog Available:  Begins Thur., May 7, noon; Ends Saturday, May 30 at noon

All orders require a $50 minimum order due to minimal staff resources. Payment is by credit card only at the time of purchase. Once placed, orders cannot be revised. Additional plants will require a separate order.

UDBG staff will contact you to schedule an appointment to pickup your plant order. Pickup is rain or shine. When picking up, customers must remain in the car while UDBG staff loads. This is for the safety and well-being of all and follows current Delaware state protocol.

We can only hold purchases made by non-Delaware customers until the COVID-19 travel ban to DE is lifted (or these customers may arrange for alternate method of pickup). Directions to the pickup/loading site will be emailed.

PLANT SALE DAYS CANCELLED–UDBG celebrate its 28th Spring Plant Sale with the anise tree (Illicium) as our featured shrub group and hardy hibiscus (Hibiscus) as the Herbaceous Featured plant. UDBG members exclusively receive the full color Spring Plant Sale catalog as one of their member benefits. At the sale, we will have a number of plants for sale that could not fit into the catalog and we also have for sale a number of varieties of hot peppers and tomatillo.

UDBG’s plant sale is open to the General Public on Friday, April 24, 3 – 6 pm. We will also be open to the general public on Saturday, April 25 9:30 am – 4 pm; Thursday, April 30, 3 – 6 pm; Friday, May 1, 3 -6 pm; and Saturday, May 2, 9 am – noon.

At our plant sales, we offer customers plants that work well here. We grow, test, and evaluate plants in the UDBG collection and our academic programs vet the plants. UDBG Friends (Thu., April 23) and Plant Sale Patrons (Wed., April 22) are permitted early entry to the Spring Plant Sale. Patrons of the Spring Plant Sale provide support to our Student Intern Program, helping students to gain hands-on experience, learn skills, build resumes, while also earning monies.
