Members Online Order begins Apr. 30

UDBG’s Spring Plant Sale has been re-imagined. We launched an online plant order form on Friday, April 24 (see dates/times below) listing all of the plants we have for sale. In keeping with previous Spring Plant Sale tradition, Patrons at the $200 gift level and above will have the first opportunity to order plants, followed by UDBG Members, and then by the General Public. Links to the online plant sale catalog will be sent to these groups in that order. The date the link is sent to each group is listed below.  Many, but not all, of these plants and their descriptions are listed in the Spring Plant Sale Catalog. If you don’t have a printed copy, you can view it online or download it from our website. For descriptive information on plants not listed in the Catalog, please research online.  The order form lists plant name, pot size, price and is grouped under the tabs Conifers, Trees, Shrubs, Perennials, Nonhardy.

HERE IS THE LIST OF THE ENTIRE PLANT SALE INVENTORY.

Patron online shopping:   Begin Fri., Apr. 24, 4:00 p.m.; Ends Tue., Apr. 28, 4:00 p.m.  10% Patron discount during this period.

UDBG Members:  Begin Thu., Apr. 30, 4:00 p.m.; Ends Wed., May 6, 4:00 p.m. 10% member discount during this period. Patrons who are members may order during this time.

General Public: Begin Fri., May 8, noon to indefinitely

Orders must be accompanied by a phone number. A UDBG staff will call to schedule an appointment to pickup so that only one customer is onsite at any time. Pickup is rain or shine. When picking up, customers must remain in the car while UDBG staff loads. This is for the safety and well-being of all and follows current Delaware state protocol.

Because current staffing is minimal (there are only 3 of us with none of the usual assistance we get from volunteers and students), there is a minimum order of $50 (after discount). Once placed, orders cannot be revised. Any additional plants will require a separate order.

We still plan to have another plant sale in late spring, early summer or fall, but at this time cannot schedule nor anticipate when that will be.

MEMBERS DAY SALE CANCELLED; NOW ONLINE—UDBG celebrate its 28th Spring Plant Sale with the anise tree (Illicium) as our featured shrub group and hardy hibiscus (Hibiscus) as the Herbaceous Featured plant. UDBG members exclusively receive the full color Spring Plant Sale catalog as one of their member benefits. At the sale, we will have a number of plants for sale that could not fit into the catalog and we also have for sale a number of varieties of hot peppers and tomatillo.

On this day only, we offer members 10% off entire plant purchase.

At our plant sales, we offer customers plants that work well here. We grow, test, and evaluate plants in the UDBG collection and our academic programs vett the plants. UDBG Friends and Plant Sale Patrons are permitted early entry to the Spring Plant Sale. Patrons of the Spring Plant Sale provide support to our Student Intern Program, helping students to gain hands-on experience, learn skills, build resumes, while also earning monies.
